Choc chip and oat slice


These make a great lunch box addition and most ingredients would already be in your kitchen cupboard.

  • 0.5 cup selfraising flour
  • 0.5 cup plain flour
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 0.67 cup desiccated coconut
  • 0.67 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup choc chips
  • 150 gm butter, melted
  • 1 egg

Choc chip and oat slice Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Grease a 17 x 27 cm slab pan and line with baking paper, with enough paper to hang over.
  3. In a large bowl, sift flours, add oats, coconut, sugar and choc chips. Make a well in the centre and add melted butter and egg. Using a wooden spoon to stir well until combined. Pour mixture into prepared pan and evenly spread into pan.
  4. Add to oven and bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown and firm to touch. Remove from oven and set aside to cool. Cut in to squares to serve.
